High Desert Games respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use our website and mobile applications. The features and information practices of individual apps may differ. Sections describing accounts, cloud synchronization, or particular service providers apply only to apps that offer those features.
Information Collected by Our Apps
Apps Without Online Accounts
Some High Desert Games apps operate entirely on the device and do not require an online account. In those apps, player profiles, settings, and game progress may be stored only on the device unless the app clearly identifies another storage or synchronization feature.
Account Information
If a High Desert Games app offers an optional online account and you choose to create one, we may collect:
- Your email address
- A unique account identifier generated by our authentication provider
- Profile information you choose to provide, such as a profile name, age, or learning level
- The date the account was created
Where Firebase Authentication is used, it securely manages account credentials. High Desert Games does not receive or store your password in readable form.
Creating an account is optional unless an account is required for a clearly identified feature. Accounts may allow cloud synchronization across supported devices.
Game Progress and Preferences
In apps that offer online accounts or cloud synchronization, we may store information needed to provide those features, including:
- Scores and games played
- Learning, training, or activity progress
- Achievements and unlocked content
- In-app coins, rewards, and hint credits
- Selected avatars, themes, and game preferences
- Collection progress
- Other settings and progress associated with the account
This information may be associated with the account’s unique user ID so that it can be restored and synchronized across devices.
Device and Sync Identifiers
An app may create a randomly generated identifier on a device to support reliable synchronization, prevent conflicting updates, or maintain app functionality. We do not use these identifiers to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
How We Use Information
Depending on the features used, we may use collected information to:
- Create and authenticate user accounts
- Save, restore, and synchronize progress across devices
- Provide account settings, app features, and game progress
- Maintain account and service security
- Respond to support requests
- Diagnose and resolve service problems
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use email addresses, user IDs, or device identifiers to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising.
Service Providers
Some High Desert Games apps use Google Firebase to provide services such as account authentication and cloud data storage. Firebase processes information on our behalf only for apps that use those services.
Information used by these features may be transmitted to and stored by Google in accordance with Google’s applicable privacy and security terms. You can learn more at Firebase Privacy and Security.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect the security of our users or services, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the rights and property of High Desert Games.
Marketing Email
An email address provided to create an app account is used for account and app functionality. It is not automatically enrolled in marketing communications.
If we offer marketing email, enrollment will be optional. We will use an email address for marketing only when the user has separately requested or consented to receive those communications. Marketing messages will include a way to unsubscribe.
Visitors may also voluntarily join the High Desert Games mailing list through our website. Mailing-list information is used to send requested news, product announcements, learning content, and promotional messages. Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time.
Analytics, Advertising, and Crash Reporting
Our apps do not currently use third-party advertising networks, third-party analytics, or crash-reporting services unless an individual app or its App Store privacy disclosure states otherwise. If these practices change, this Privacy Policy and the applicable store privacy disclosures will be updated.
Location Information
Our apps do not collect precise geographic location unless an individual app clearly requests permission for a location-based feature and its store privacy disclosure identifies that collection.
Children’s Privacy
Some High Desert Games apps are educational games that may be used by children and families. When an app offers an online account, creating the account may require an email address. A child under 13 should not create an account or provide an email address without the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent should contact us. We will review the request and delete the information when required. Parents and guardians may also request access to or deletion of their child’s account information by contacting us at the address below.
Data Retention
For apps with online accounts, we retain account information and synchronized progress while the account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the service. Some information may be retained for a limited period when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements. Information stored only on a device remains there until it is removed through the app, the app is deleted, or the device removes it.
Accessing and Deleting Information
Users may be able to view and update profile information through the applicable app. Apps that provide online accounts will provide account-management controls where required. Deleting an account through those controls removes the associated authentication account and synchronized app progress from our active database, subject to limited retention required for security or legal compliance.
You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with an account. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect account information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting their passwords and device access. Please contact us if you believe an app account has been accessed without authorization.
International Data Processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where the user lives. These countries may have different data-protection laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our apps, websites, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through an affected app or by another appropriate method.
